After raising three children Marianne returned to her love of acting and the theater and launched her career as a NY based screen and stage actor. She completed the one and a half year Acting Conservatory with Seth Barrish and Lee Brock at The Barrow Group, and a two year Meisner based training with Jim Parrack and Andrea Dantas at Playhouse West Brooklyn Lab and Andrea Dantas Conservatory in New York.
Marianne is passionate about collaborating with writers to bring new work to New York audiences and has performed on stages at The Barrow Group, Rattlestick Playwrights Theater, The National Black Theater, and Dixon Place. A highlight has been to act in a play and film written by her son George. She has been a member of Paul Michael’s Theater Company for six seasons where she has won Best Supporting Actress in his New Short Play Festival in October 2017 and 2018, and was in the Best Play winners in April 2017 and October 2018. Marianne played the lead role of Juliana in The Other Place By Sharr White produced by Headwall Theatre Company in February 2019.
Marianne’s notable screen appearances have been as Katharine Ross’ daughter in the independent feature Attachments (winner of Special Jury Award at Worldfest Houston in April 2019), the mother in Stretch Marks (winner of Audience Award Feature Film at Soho International Film Festival June 2018), and as Mrs Flora Franks in the Heart of Darkness episode on the Crime to Remember series on the Investigation Discovery channel.
Marianne is actively seeking representation in NY to pursue work in film, TV, and theater. In April 2019 she started working with commercial agents Mickey Shera and Marla Haut at Innovative Artists.
